Welcome to my website
My primary area of expertise is dynamical systems, in particular, hyperbolic and partially hyperbolic dynamics, properties of dynamically defined Cantor sets, etc. Most beautiful results in mathematics usually appear on the edge of different areas, and so I am most intersted in questions that involve dynamical systems and other areas of mathematics, such as spectral theory, mathematical physics, random matrix products, celestial mechanics, and even mathematical logic. Here you can learn more about my research.
I received my Ph.D. in 2001 from Moscow State University, Russia. Prior to my appointment at the University of California Irvine, I was a research instructor at Caltech (2004-2007) and at Moscow State University (2001-2004).
