Textbook: Abstract Algebra by J.B. Fraleigh (Sixth Edition)

The aim of this course is to present the elementary theory of group theory,
which is a basic tool in all abstract mathematics. We shall study the
basic properties of groups and discuss many concrete examples.

The final grade of this course will be based on:

one midterm exam (about 30%)
one final exam (about 50%)
homework/quizz (about 20%)

The exams will consist of problems similar to, but different from the
problems/examples in the book and in the lectures. The HW is due every Tuesday.
