Professor Charles Fefferman will be visiting the Department of Mathematics from April 5th through April 8 th as part of the Department's Distinguished Lecture Series. He will be giving two talks.
Professor Charles Fefferman is the Herbert Jones University Professor at the Princeton University Department of Mathematics. Dr. Fefferman earned his Bachelor's degree in physics and mathematics at the age of 17, and his PhD in mathematics at the age of 20 from Princeton University. He has received numerous prestigious honors and awards, including the Alan T. Waterman Award, the Fields medal for his work in mathematical analysis, the Salem Prize, Bôcher Memorial Prize and the Stefan Bergman prize. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
