Description:
Dr. Qi completed a second Ph.D. on Electrical and Computer Engineering while holding the faculty position at the Speech and Hearing Sciences Department of University of Arizona. He published several articles on signal processing and pattern recognition as part of his Ph.D. work. He was later jointly appointed as an Associate Professor by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he taught digital signal processing and advanced digital signal processing.
At Qualcomm, Dr. Qi's major responsibility is on multimedia signal processing. He contributed significantly to the development of multimedia functions on the mobile platform. Most of his work, however, are proprietary (not published). Over a dozen of patents have been filed as a result of his work at Qualcomm.
