Additional Laplace Transform Example; Quiz 4 Update
Posted on May 12, 2005, 7:18pm
I just posted an additional Laplace transform example that shows how to deal with Heaviside and delta functions. Please see the downloads section, as usual.
As for memorizing the Laplace transforms, I'd recommend learning
all but the last line:
L( f*g ) = F(s)G(s)
This notation f*g is a convolution,
and not a product. Since you're not learning convolutions,
ignore this last line.
Lastly, I'll post the Quiz 4 solutions no later than 5:00pm tomorrow. Thanks -- Paul

I just posted a handout Laplace transform self-quiz. Please use it as you study Laplace transforms in the coming weeks. Even if you are supplied with a sheet of transforms on your next exam, knowing them will save you a LOT of time and help you to work more quickly in the limited time setting of an exam. -- Paul

I think that everybody's been doing a good job this week, and so I hope that you keep up the good work! So far, we're pretty much on target for keeping pace with lecture while still taking the time to explain things. This is good.
Next week, I hope to jump headfirst into second-order problems and theory. Please bring any questions you may have with you. Have a good weekend!
