Students interested in graduate school in mathematics: Students thinking about going to graduate school in mathematics are strongly encouraged to take the UCI beginning level graduate course in Real Analysis (Math 205) while still an undergraduate student. Approval may be needed to register for this course, but the department definitely supports advanced undergraduates taking this course. Taking the 140A (and possibly 140B) course should be adequate preparation for the 205 course. Note the graduate course sequence only begins in the Fall, so make sure you plan accordingly. Note that there is a similar beginning level graduate course in Abstract Algebra (Math 206) in which students interested in graduate school are encouraged to enroll. This sequence also starts only in the Fall quarter.
