I received an MS in mathematics from the University of Tor Vergata in Rome, Italy in 1999, and a PhD in mathematics from Princeton University in 2004. While a student at Princeton, I spent two years as a visiting scholar at MIT and worked on my thesis project under the supervision of Professor David A. Vogan. From 2004 to 2007 I was a post-doctoral researcher at Cornell University (H.C. Wang assistant professor).
I joined the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine in 2007, as a a Lecturer/Assistant Specialist. Since 2010, I have been a Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment (PSOE) and I am currently the Assistant Vice Chair for Undergraduate Studies..
My research interests lie in the field of representation theory.
My teaching interests are in active learning and IBL strategies, and the development and assessment of K-12 math enrichment programs, in particular Math Circles. I am very involved in outreach initiatives in the Orange County community.
